What Operating Systems Can I Use With DAQiFi Devices?

Windows and Android are currently supported.

How Can I Connect to DAQiFi Devices?

Communication with DAQiFi devices is through a standard wireless network. No physical connection is required to the board making DAQiFi extremely flexible. Optionally, USB serial port emulation is available for wired communication. These two interfaces make the devices extremely versatile in the types of applications DAQiFi devices can interface with. The USB serial port emulation allows interaction via any terminal application (PuTTY, hyperterminal, etc.).

What WiFi Technology do DAQiFi Devices Use?

DAQiFi devices run on 802.11b/g/n. In other words it works with any modern WiFi router and existing network. Optionally, the devices can be configured as Soft AP (access point) mode to broadcast their own SSID. This way, a user can connect directly to the device with no existing network infrastructure. eg. No router would be required. Connection can be made directly from PC/Android to any DAQiFi device.

What WiFi Security Protocols Are Supported?

Daqifi devices can work with WEP, WPA, WPA2. If security is not desired, the devices will also connect to open networks.
Additionally, enterprise security is available over WPA/WPA2 (802.1X):

  • EAP-TLS
  • EAP-PEAPv0/1 with TLS
  • EAP-TTLSv0 with MSCHAPv2
  • EAP-PEAPv0/1 with MSCHAPv2

How is Data Stored in the DAQiFi Ecosystem?

Data is stored in a database on the receiving device (PC/Android device) via the DAQiFi app. It can be viewed on the receiving device or exported to a CSV file. Future firmware updates will allow SD card storage on the DAQiFi device itself for standalone datalogging.
